The Golden Diamond: The Road To 2028 LA/OKC Olympic Softball
In October, we heard part one of the incredible OKC Olympic story: riversports. Now, we delve into softball as we await the Games of the XXXIV Olympiad. OKC is the national and international softball capital. Once a poor cousin to baseball, softball is finding a niche - and a financially lucrative one at that. From the Softball Hall of Fame to the ratings giant Womens College World Series and now the world stage. Hear from those in Paris last year prepping for the most epic sports events in our state history.
Panelists:
Sue Hollenbeck is the special events manager for the City of OKC. She played a key role in securing both Olympic events and is now mapping the '28 road.
Craig Cress is executive director of USA Softball, which owns and operates the National Softball Hall of Fame and Devon Park. USA Softball also produces Team USA, our Olympic representative.
