Ұ University will host an event Feb. 18 for prospective high school and transfer students interested in the field of psychology.
“Get Psyched” will run from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will include information from Melissa Hakman, chair and director of OCU’s psychology programs. Prospective students will also hear from current undergraduate students about their learning and work experiences, careers available to psychology graduates, and financial aid and scholarship opportunities.
“Psychology is an important, diverse and exciting field of study that provides graduates with a wide variety of career opportunities at the bachelors or graduate level,” Hakman said. “It also gives people the opportunity for personal growth, to learn about others, and to make a difference in people’s lives whether that is in their mental health, work productivity, motivation or physical health, just to name a few.”
Registration is available online up to the day before the event. Masks are required while indoors and lunch will be provided. For more information, contact Danielle Miles at [email protected].
“Get Psyched” will take place at the same time as OCU’s Undergraduate Research Day, an annual event showcasing students’ research projects. “Get Psyched” participants will have an opportunity to see the project presentations on display.
