ESports Team Appoints Coordinator

野狼社区 University has hired Paul Vaughan to become the new head coordinator of the eSports team. Vaughan will help develop team and leadership skills for the players, manage and cast live streams of the games and will help analyze game footage for team improvement.

Vaughan is coming from one of the top collegiate esports programs in the country, Boise State Esports. He was club president for a short period of time before helping start the varsity League of Legends team, then later the Boise State varsity Overwatch team. As part of the Boise State Esports team, he competed nationally against schools like Utah, UC Irvine, Arizona State, Miami and others including current and past collegiate League of Legends national champions Maryville University and Robert Morris University.

鈥淚 am excited to have someone at 野狼社区 University who has had so much experience with one of the top collegiate programs in the country,鈥 said eSports Director Jeff Price. 鈥淭his will bring a lot of best practices and new ideas to our program and all of our partner schools. I know he'll be an outstanding role model for our student-athletes. I look forward to the heights the OCU eSports teams will go under his leadership."

Vaughan recently graduated with a degree in information technology management from Boise State University. Besides raising the level of game play for OCU e-athletes, with five years in live production, he hopes to bring a high level of professionalism and education to the video streaming team.

OCU eSports was recently admitted into the National Association of Colligate Esports (NACE) in the summer of 2019. OCU eSports has also partnered with many regional university programs and high school programs in Oklahoma. OCU eSports will also be offering scholarships for recruited esports athletes.
