Areas of Expertise
Dr. Flores specializes in strategic marketing, marketing management, brands, and ethics. He has published in journals such as Journal of Consumer Marketing, Journal of Business and Behavioral Sciences, and Journal of Academic Ethics. His research has been presented at conferences such as the American Marketing Association and the Academy of Marketing Science annual conferences. Dr. Flores’ research has been recognized by the Academy of Marketing Science (Jane F. Kenyo Best Paper Award for Student Research - 2011), Allied Academies (Distinguished Research Award – 2013), American Society of Business and Behavioral Sciences (Best Track Paper – 2020), and received the OCU – Meinders School of Business Dean’s Scholarship Award on 3 occasions (2016, 2019, and 2020). This, along with Dr. Flores’ teaching record, led to him holding the position of Norick Brother’s Distinguished Professor of Marketing Chair (2016-2023) in the Meinders School of Business before his hiatus from academia during which he entered private practice.
Dr. Flores’ current research stream analyzes the intersection between organizational communication practices and its impact on employee and customer value co-creation behaviors, social justice issues advocacy, and a nascent sub-emphasis on contexts involving consumers with ADHD.
Professional Activities
Professor Flores has worked as the Director of Strategy and Client Relations in the Workers' Compensation case management industry and founded OtterWay, a boutique consulting firm, in 2015. He is a member of the American Marketing Association and Academy of Marketing Science.
