MLK Jr. Service Project
This will be OCU's 9th annual service project in dedication to Martin Luther King Jr.'s commitment to community service. Each year, we strive to make 1,000 sandwiches that will be donated to The Homeless Alliance Day Shelter. We are excited to include chips and a water bottle again this year with a huge thank you to the grant that was approved through OCU's Student Government Association. These usually covers them for three days' worth of lunches, which has been immensely helpful as they have been iced in these past couple of years and so the more food they can get, the better!
Time: 1 p.m.
Date: Thursday, Jan. 23
Location: Student Lounge (area outside of the cafeteria)
We'll come together to assemble these sandwiches, chips, and water bottles with some music playing in the background and general comradery as we stay true to serving our own community. It's a really fun time!
We will need volunteers to help deliver the packed lunches to The Homeless Alliance once the project is over. We will be asking the President's Leadership Class of 2028 to help deliver if they are available. If you all know anyone who would be interested in helping by driving or riding with a diver to help carry the food inside, please fill out . Any help is appreciated but not expected by any means!
